Bread Crumbs

How many pigeons
Have you been feeding?
Found her on Facebook
She’s younger than me

Said you were busy
Not caught up with work
Meanwhile you begged her
To come by and lurk

Take back your bread crumbs
They never fill me
Deserve someone who
Won’t leave me hungry

No need to explain
Stale crumbs and white lies
Dangerous how you
Burn me with gas light

Keep your stone walls up
I won’t try to climb
No more chasing you
Or wasting my time

I guess it’s not love
Cause love shouldn’t hurt
The way you treat me
Is not fit for dirt

Heart wrenching last four lines. A great poem of betrayal and the pain it brings.
