Another morning of mourning
Not only for you
But for this world
I always wonder what
You would have said
About the pandemic, protests,
Mass shootings, the war…

A large crow caws

Know you’re gone forever
But let me pretend.

Brother, how’ve you been?

I’ve got a brother that, while he may not be gone forever he’ll be gone for 25 years to life without possibility of parole. We’re not brothers, though; never have been; more like littermates, though there’s about a decade and a half between us.

    1. I’m sorry to hear that 😦 My brother spent a lot of time in jail when he was alive, too. I hear from a lot of people that their siblings are kind of like litter mates, and I can’t imagine. I feel weird if I go a few days without talking to any of my sisters.

  7. This is so moving Sylvia. The dialogue we continue to have with those we have lost – so true.

  12. Sylvia ~ I often think about what my father would say about all those current events… It’s weird to think that he never experienced any of them…
