Serendipity Trail

A Haibun for Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge

Serendipity Trail isn’t the path that I originally intended to hike, but it’s turned out to be so much better than the one my guide book recommended. Luckily, my goal was to enjoy myself, no matter what. not to simply follow directions. Without whatever misstep led me here, I would have never seen those orchids, or that tidefall, or that Shepard rounding up tule elk by the ocean.

Fallen boulder lodged
River flow redirected
New water stream shape

Words used: aim, plus synonyms: intended, goal, turned
guide, plus synonyms: Shepard , led

All photos in this post by me. Palomarin is the name of the actual trail that leads to this tidefall, Alamere Falls.
