Chain Verse Haiku

New diamond ring
Carrying chest of bubbly
By the icy creek

“Eek, don’t bump your head!”
He admonishes Mother
(Her sight isn’t great)

Eating a picnic
Nick introduces us two
Women who he loves

Vested in marriage
Aged cheeses on the table
Blessed be this union

Written for W3 Prompt #30: Wea’ve Written Weekly. Prompt: Write a chain verse poem using at least 3 haikus and the word “mother.”

I found this prompt challenging… I tried to use the last syllable from each line as the first syllable in the next line, but ended up taking some poetic license.
