First Kiss

People have warned me that jumping into something new isn’t the best idea immediately after ending something toxic. I know, but, this heartbreak is hard to handle on my own, and he’s treating me just right. It’s as if someone gave him an instruction manual on how to love me. We laugh and talk for hours, and it seems as if neither one of us wants the night to end. When I ask if I can have a hug, he pulls me close, and doesn’t let go. Neither do I. My eyes gradually gaze up towards his, and our lips gently unite.

Treasure hunt complete
Serendipity, look up
Unexpected gem

My heart drops. The world stops. He kisses me like he might be the one.

Emotions do play with our minds and sometimes cloud our judgement. Well done.

  9. He may not have been the one, but this poem was inspired by a sweet moment nonetheless 🙂

There truly is nothing more electrifying than a first kiss with someone. You described the scene well.
