Trap and release

Every time I trap

An insect

And then release it

It freezes me

In reflection

Over how the world

Treats people with PTSD

As if we are so terrifying

And hostile

And violent

And the reason we aren’t that way

With animals

Is because animals

Have not been that way

With us
